Obituary For Delbert "George" Dane Purdin II

Delbert "George" Purdin

Windsor, VA - On September 19, 2025, the family of Delbert "George" Purdin lost their beloved "southern gentleman", a title given by his maternal grandmother.

Born to Delbert & Jeanne Purdin, he leaves to cherish his memory his sons Delbert Krueger (Deanna) and Clint Purdin, 3 grandchildren Daphne, Dane and Darcy Krueger, his siblings Deb, Eugene, Tracy and Rodney, a nephew, 2 nieces and 2 great nieces.

A resident of Windsor, George loved the country life and walking in the woods. Memories of hunting and fishing with his sons were his greatest joys. For many years, he was a member of the Travelers Hunt Club and served as its President. Many antlers grew in numbers and fish grew larger in size when the Purdin brothers gathered to reminisce their hunting stories.

Those we love are always with us as our memories are gifts of love that are ours to keep. Remember George for his quiet kindness, especially to children and to the elderly. Remember, too, his stubborn streak and how it drove us crazy. And when you hear an old George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty or Loretta Lynn country twanging song, remember George's love of country music!

No services are planned at this time. Simply Cremation is assisting George's family. Please share memories and express condolences at SimplyCremationOnline.com.

Rest peacefully, dear Georgie. Rest peacefully.
