Delbert R. Rans III, 65, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on August 4, 2024. He was born on August 1, 1959 in Knox, IN to Delbert R. Rans Jr. and Mary M. Fagan.
Delbert and Marilyn S. Speicher were joined in marriage on July 24, 1982, in Winamac, IN. Over the span of 42 years, their union was filled cherished moments as they raised their two children, Jordan and Alexandria.
Delbert dedicated himself to a thriving career as a Sales Account Manager at Dairy Farmers of America, previously known as Dean Foods. Beyond his professional pursuits, Delbert found immense joy in cheering on the Chicago Cubs while participating in friendly banter with fans of their rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals. However, his greatest source of happiness came from spending quality time with his loved ones and witnessing the next generations prosper.
Known for his playful spirit, quick wit, and ever-present smile, Delbert brought light to many lives. His unwavering positivity and amicable nature endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Delbert will be deeply missed by his wife, Marilyn; mother Mary M. Rans-Delon; son, Jordan (Meghan) Rans and their children, Brody and Brynn; daughter, Alexandria (Adam) Rans-Schell and their daughter Sunnie; siblings, Tom (Linda) Rans and William (Janet) Kennedy; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved Golden Retrievers, Dawson and Beau.
He is preceded in death by his father, Delbert.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 11-1PM at the First United Methodist Church, 400 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral Services will be immediately following at 1PM with Pastor Lauren Hall officiating.
Delbert will be laid to rest at New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church, 400 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563 or to the Marshall County Humane Society, PO Box 22, Plymouth, IN 46563.
