Delberta M. Dixon, age 90, has passed on to her Heavenly Home, January 23, 2026.
Delberta McCutcheon was the firstborn to Henry and Juanita McCutcheon on March 4, 1935. She was born in Robertson County, Texas and raised around Marlin, Texas.
Delberta always had a strong work ethic. In her early years, it was keeping a clean and well organized house, but quickly it expanded to picking cotton in the fields. She met Lee Dixon, and they both agreed there had to be a better way of making a living than picking cotton. So, she, Lee Dixon, and her first child moved to Midland, TX, around 1952.
Mama was a dependable, strong, proud, elegant, stretch-a-buck kind of woman and we are proud to have been raised and nurtured by her. She was the heart of the family, and we are in need of a transplant.
Left to cherish her memories are her children; Rosie Lee Hall, Virginia Ann Curtis, Leanna Marie Sanders, and Jr. Lee Dixon, Jr., grandchildren; Damion Sanders, Ricky Sanders, Myka Morgan Sanders, April Elizabeth Dixon, Derrick Dixon, Taylor Dixon, and great-grandchildren; Amaya Rae, Damion Sanders Jr. (DJ), and Caelon Jase Young (CJ), her sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Antioch Baptist Church, 1400 E. Golf Course Rd. Midland, TX 79701 at 1:00pm with Pastor Ronald Vandyke officiating. Internment immediately followed at Fairview Cemetery, 1620 N. A Street Midland, TX 79701.
