Dellalee Code was received back into her Father in Heaven's arms on Aug. 9, 2025. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Salem, OR. Dementia no longer has any power over her. She is whole again.
Della was born on June 18, 1946, in Cache County, UT to Phyllis and Merle Kingsford. She was the 2nd of 7 children.
On March 17, 1967, she married Richard Dee Code in Clinton, UT. They were married until his death on Dec. 6, 1992. They had 2 children together. A daughter, Mary Dawn Code Wixom, who later married and gave her 4 living grandchildren, Brittney Lorraine Wixom, Tiffany Mariah Wixom, Richard Isaac Marc Wixom, and Faith Rebbecah Wixom, and a son, Lysle Dee Code, who later married and gave her 2 granddaughters, Olivia Brynne Code Paul, who has one son, Uriah Dee Leviathan Paul, and Danika Lynne Code.
She grew up in Clinton, UT, and lived all over the Ogden area of Utah throughout the years, as well as out of state in Great Falls, MT, and finally in Salem, OR. She graduated from Clearfield High School.
Della was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served in many callings throughout her life, including Relief Society President, in the YW Presidency, Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader, Compassionate Service, and Family Research Genealogy Specialist.
She spent decades happily devoted to Family History and Genealogy, both as a volunteer and professionally. It was one of her great joys in life.
Another of her great joys was in serving her fellow man. She was an amazing example of Christlike service, starting when she took over caring for her younger siblings while her mother struggled through years of mental illness. If she saw a need she could fulfill for another, she did it. She gave numerous family and friends a safe place to stay, not just for a night or two, but in some cases months or years, until that person was able to get on their feet again. She was known to nurse people who were sick. She took her mother and her mother-in-law into her home and either cared for them, or helped to care for them until they passed. She watched Dee's daughters from the time they were born until they were old enough to care for themselves while Dee and his wife worked. She accepted Mary and her husband's best friends, Don and Becky Child and their children into the fold, treating them as children and grandchildren without reservation.
She was always ready with a ride, or a meal, or a helping hand. With some advice, or some money if she had it. If she had it, she gave it.
She enjoyed serving God, doing genealogy, spending time with family and friends, traveling, music, watching Star Trek and reading Star Trek books, and doing her beloved word searches and jigsaw puzzles.
She was a wonderful example of kindness, acceptance, fortitude, sacrifice, resiliency, faith, love, and joyful life. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by 6 siblings and their spouses: Kathryn Kingsford of Clinton, UT, Sandra Phillips of Ft. Worth, TX, Karl Kingsford and his wife LuAnn Kingsford of Roy, UT, Kenny Kingsford and his wife Lianne Kingsford of Provo, UT, Francine Brady of San Bernadino, CA, and Robert Kingsford of Layton, UT. She is also survived by her daughter, Mary Wixom and her husband Steve Wixom, and her Son Lysle Dee Code and his wife Nicole Code, as well as 6 living grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
