Della Frances Hudson

Della Frances Hudson, age 83, of Stewart, TN, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024 in Burns, TN, while surrounded by her loving family. 

 Funeral Mass will be held at11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with Father Vimal Backiyaraj, C.P. officiating. Inurnment will follow in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Cemetery. 

 The Hudson family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home. 

 Della entered this life on March 31, 1941 in Lake Village, AR, daughter to the late Gino Olivi and Teresa Pettinari Olivi. Della will be missed by everyone that ever had the honor to know her. Della was a faithful servant to her Lord, above all. She was known for putting the needs of others, family, friends, and strangers included in front of her own needs. She touched the lives of so many with her kind spirit and wonderful outlook. She made it a point daily to serve her Church and then she would begin the task of checking on the well-being of her children and their families, along with her brothers and sisters that she cherished.

 Most people in Tennessee Ridge knew her as the co-owner of Ted’s Market that they built and opened together in 1977 and ran for 25 years. They met so many people that became their lifelong friends. Della was always willing to help anyone for any reason, unconditionally; everyone that knew her knew she was truly special. Even in her last days, she had such a positive spirit and always met everyone with a smile, and she would say she was okay. As sick as she had become, she would still brighten the day of everyone she encountered, be it with a wink or a cunning word or that beautiful smile that we all loved so much. Through the struggles she endured the last 5 months of her earthly life, she still had a positive outlook. We know it was because she knew what was in her near future, to be free from pain, and that her reward in Heaven was near. We are confident she heard these words as she entered into His kingdom. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant’. She will be greatly missed but has left a mark that will never be forgotten.

 In addition to her parents, Della was preceded in death by her lifelong loving companion, Ted Hudson; step-children, Judy Hudson, and JoAnn Hudson. 

 Survivors include her loving sons, Paul (Robin) Hudson, Steve (Robin) Hudson; step-children, Danny Hudson, Cindy (Jeff) Erickson, David Hudson; siblings, Elizabeth “Libby” Borgognoni, Santo Olivi, Robert Olivi, and Phyllis Olivi “FeFe” Raffanti. Della also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Michael (Brittany) Hudson, Holly (Austin) Williams, Andrew (Micaela) Dyer, Adam (Faith) Hudson, Wells Woodard, Lily Hudson, Maddie Ross, Maybre Ross, Macon Ross, Ellie Ross, Dillon (Tina) Hudson, Rachel Hatfield, Michael (Krystyna) Erickson, Ashley Hudson, Jason (Tammy) DeLavergne, Jennifer DeLavergne; great-grandchildren, Palmer Hudson, Wyatt Hudson, Addy Williams, Hudson Williams, Naomi Dyer, Duke Dyer, Lilah Hudson, Luka Hudson, Chance Hudson, Bella Hudson, Owen Erickson, Julia Erickson, and family. 

  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 755 Hwy 49, TN Ridge, TN, 37178.
