Delma had many best friends but she and Eva Burks Strickland were very best friends. They bonded on the school bus to Idabel Grey High in 9th grade and graduated together in 1949. Throughout marriage, childbirth and life long events they stayed in contact with Del in Idabel and Eva in rural Garvin´s Farmers´ Hill Community. Momma lived a mile from where she was raised. They enjoyed shopping in Texarkana, eating out, gardening and bird watching. Class reunions were big events, too. When Momma got dementia Del was ever faithful to visit and check on her. Mom passed away at 79 and Del called from time to time to say how much she missed her. We had all that in common. Prayers for her sons and their families.
