Delmar Lee McCowan, born on May 13, 1938, in Crossville TN, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Medway, OH. He was a beloved figure known for his hard work and dedication as the owner and operator of McCowan Electric until his retirement.
Delmar was not just a hard worker; he also brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. He had a witty sense of humor, loved to tell jokes, and easily found ways to make people smile, whether through his gifts or playful pranks.
He enjoyed watching wrestling most days of the week, taking long rides on his motorcycle, and grilling out with his family whom he treasured dearly-especially his grandchildren.
Delmar is survived by his daughter, Melanie Mills; his son, Allen McCowan; his grandchildren, Heather Mills, Christopher Mills, Jeff Jones Jr., and Jimmy McCowan; and his great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Piseno, Brandon Woods, and Rayleigh Mills. He also leaves behind his brother, Ray McCowan.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Wilma McCowan, his parents Dillard and Audie McCowan, his daughter Cindy Jones, and his grandson Darren Lee Mills Jr. Delmar's spirit will remain in the hearts of those who loved him, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 12, 2026 from 11am-12pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424. The service will follow at 12pm. Delmar will be laid to rest with his wife at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle.
