Delmer Lee Russell

Delmer Lee Russell, age 76 born June 10, 1949, passed away peacefully Friday evening November 28, 2025, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN while surrounded by his loved ones.

Delmer was a member of Big Mountain Baptist Church for many years where he played guitar up until his health declined and prevented him doing what the Lord had led him to do. Before retiring in 2011, Delmer worked many years for Oak Ridge School Systems as a member of the maintenance and custodial staff. He loved and enjoyed gospel music, fishing, ATV riding and entertaining friends.

Delmer is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Rhoda Lee Russell, sister Rachel Russell Wilson, brother Charles Russell, sister Evelyn Standifer and brother Jerry Standifer.

Delmer is survived by his children: Steve (wife Darrion) Russell of Jamestown, TN, Darrell (wife Christina) of South Carolina, Jamie of Florida and Brian of Boston, Massachusetts. Grandchildren: Robert Chapell, Steven Russell, Hannah and Chesni along with Charli and Henry. Brother James (wife Faye) of Clinton, TN, sister Marilyn Duncan of Clinton, TN, sister Naomi Russell Gaylon (husband Lynn) of Harriman, TN, brother Donald (wife Mary) Russell of Oliver Springs, TN and brother Glen (wife Bobbie) Russell of Clinton, TN, along with a host of nieces, nephews and many special friends including Patsy Mitchell, Abbie Kitts and Mike Freels.

The family will receive friends on Thursday December 4, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Sharp Funeral Home with the funeral at 7:00 P.M. with Bro. David Coffman and Bro. Lonnie Lowe officiating. Graveside service will be on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Oak Ridge, TN.
