Delores May (Kemps) Andringa, 98, of Rib Mountain, peacefully passed into eternal life on March 24, 2025, at Mount View Memory Care Center/North Central Health Care where she had resided since 2015. Delores was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, on July 15, 1926 to Herbert and Lillian (Zastrow) Kemps.

Delores worked at Employers Insurance of Wausau and then at Wilson Hurd Manufacturing until her retirement. Delores enjoyed planning large family gatherings with her sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and all the kids. She especially loved being with her five boys and their families and cherished those together times which always included delicious feasts around her table. She adored spending time with her grandchildren, having them stay over at her home and camping/hiking/exploring with them.

A life-long, active Lutheran with a deep faith in God, in her later years Delores was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wausau. She was a Sunday School teacher, Cub and Boy Scout leader, and a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1983. She spent long hours in her flower gardens, nurtured numerous houseplants, and enjoyed cooking, baking, singing, listening to music, oil painting, doing jigsaw puzzles, reading, crafting, crocheting, traveling, and collecting old poetry books. She also enjoyed cheering on the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks. She had a very generous heart and for years made and shared her homemade soups, casseroles, and baked goods with family and friends near and far. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and we will never forget her many delicious varieties of cookies and Kuchen! She was always thinking of others and enthusiastically lived life to the fullest.

Delores is survived by four of her five sons she had with Robert L. Andringa (deceased): Michael (June) of Plano, TX; Richard (Karla Dombroski) of Wausau; Peter of Cottage Grove; and Robert (Carolyn) of Mosinee; daughter-in-law Cherie (Todd) of Chippewa Falls; eight grandchildren: Matthew (Hayley), Leslie, Jeremy (Holly), Steven (Carrie), Stacey Schliesmann (Mike), Christina, Teresa Jones (Ben), and Robert; two step granddaughters: Erika Albrecht and Tanya Albrecht (Carolyn); fifteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; her two sisters: Elaine Treu and Shirley (George) Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Todd, her daughter-in-law Michelle “Miki”, her brother-in-law Donald Treu, and her granddaughter Jessica “Jessie” Andringa.

A heartfelt thank you to Acorn Hill Assisted Living and staff, Cedar Creek Manor and staff, and especially to everyone at Mount View/NCHC who took such wonderful, loving care of Delores throughout her final years. Additional thanks to Aspirus Palliative Care and Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 13, 2025 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, preceded by visitation at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Mount View Memory Care Center, the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, or a charity of your choosing in memory of Delores.
