Delores Nakatani Obituary

Delores Tillie Nakatani
March 25, 1943 - September 7, 2024
Delores was born on March 25, 1943 in Kellogg, Idaho to James & Katherine Kitchen. She had five siblings: brothers Dick, Elmer & Larry and sisters Della & Betty. The family settled in Dixon California, where she graduated from Dixon High School. Delores married Harry Nakatani in 1966, and they had 3 children: Darren, Kathy & Stephanie. Delores also had 5 grandchildren; Darren Jr, Austin, James, Kayla & Kaitlin and was blessed with 3 great grandchildren; Ren, Koa & Kai,
Delores wore many hats in her life. One of her first jobs was serving ice cream and milkshakes at the Milk farm in Dixon. She went on to own a service and gas station, sold Avon Door to Door and finally found her calling to serve and manage the kitchen at Cotati-Rohnert Park School District. It was here that she loved to feed all the kids and teachers the best meals possible to make sure that no child went hungry,
Delores settled in Rohnert Park with her family, where she lived in the same home for over 50 years. She was always active in the community where she was Girl Scout troop leader, Cub Scout troop leader, Pop Warner Cheer coach/team mother, and team mom for Cal Ripken baseball & Rohnert Park Softball. She loved supporting her children, grandchildren and the children of Rohnert Park.
Delores was a mother figure to many as well as being the support and go to and rock for her entire extended family and a multitude of friends. When someone was in need or needed advice, she always had an ear to lend or a hand to extend.
Her love of being in the garden was evident in the many hours she spent tending to and nurturing all her beautiful flowers and trees. Her creativity was also evident in the multitude of projects she had on the go; always busy with a scrapbook, quilt, or decorating for any Holiday that came around.
It is with heavy hearts we have to let her go on to her next journey. She will be greatly missed. Delores Family will be having a Celebration of life September 28th 1:00pm at the Penngrove Social Firemen 385 Woodward Ave, Penngrove Ca, 94951
