Delores F. Zelenak

MILLBURY - Delores “Dee” F. (vanTwyver) Zelenak passed away peacefully on March 31st, surrounded by love from family and friends.

Dee leaves her loving daughter, Cynthia Zelenak, her grandchildren; Victoria McCann and her husband Brett McCann, John Agbey, Alexandra Agbey, Evan Agbey, William Zelenak Jr and his wife Christine Zelenak; her great grandchildren Mason Agbey and Sloane McCann; along with many family and friends who loved her dearly. Delores is predeceased by her husband, John Zelenak and her two sons John Zelenak Jr. and Mark Zelenak.

Delores was born in Williamsport, PA and went on to attend Sutton public school, Commerce High in Worcester MA, and graduated from Salter Secretarial School. She was a dedicated member of the Millbury Baptist Church for many years. Besides enjoying cooking and serving delicious meals at church functions, she also served as MBC Chair of Mission Committee, Mission Advocate for TABCOM, Treasurer of Central Baptist Association, and Church Auditor as well as holding several positions on Women's Fellowship, including White Cross Missions Chair. She was one of the FIRST Mission Advocates in MA!

In addition to raising her family, which she considered her greatest accomplishment, Delores also worked as bookkeeper for the family business led by her late husband John. Delores had many hobbies including bowling, jig saw and crossword puzzles, cooking, singing, and listening to music. She was the Boston Red Sox’s biggest fan and loved a good lobster dinner. More than anything, Delores loved to spend time with her family, whom she was incredibly proud of. She was always there to give love, support, and encouragement to those around her. Delores was strong, resilient, and a positive light in our lives. She will be sorely missed by all her family and friends, but her impact on our lives will never be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Dee’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Friday, April 4th from 5 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. 

Her funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, April 5th at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in WCMP, Paxton.
