Dolores was born to Melvin and Alma Erickson in Bellingham, WA, in 1936. She attended Bellingham High School, followed by Western Washington University where she obtained her master's degree in education. She met the love of her life, Erling Freeberg, and they married in 1960. She spent her entire career as a teacher for the Eastmont School District and dearly loved teaching at the second grade level. Dolores was an excellent pianist. She played for many nursing homes in the Wenatchee Valley for many years and shared her love of piano with her children, who took lessons throughout their entire childhood. In retirement, she partnered with her husband and created and published children's educational art books to be used in the classroom. Erling and Dolores had three children: Kären Lombard (Mark), Kirsten Heale (Gary), and Eric Freeberg. Three grandsons that she cherished; Kaden Smith (Samantha), Jordan Heale, and Brett Heale. At the end of her life, she found even more love in her little great-grandsons, Arthur and Remy Smith. Her grandsons affectionately called her "Dolly" and that name stuck for most family and friends. Dolly was a seamstress, pianist, a lifelong learner, a writer, had a silly sense of humor and loved unconditionally.
We love you Dolly and are comforted by you being at peace. – Your Family
