Deloris Carleen Harris Leach, age 87, was born on December 4, 1935 in Gulfport, MS and departed on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 in Gulfport, MS.
Carleen, as she was affectionately known, was born to the union of the late Carl W. Harris, Sr. and Luecresha Freightman Harris.
Carleen enjoyed fishing and would always come in with a good catch. Family, friends and neighbors benefited from her fishing. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with family and friends.
Carleen was preceded in death by her parents, Carl W. Harris, Sr. and Luecresha Freightman Harris; her husband, Calvin F. Leach; son, Ivery Tillman, Jr.; brother, Teddy Harris; nephew, Christopher Coleman; and niece, Tambra Harris.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her loving daughter, Gabriella Potts; five sisters, Patricia Carter, Linda (Willie) Robertson, Arleen (Ronald) Estus, Hilda (Larry) Maye, Deneice Harris (Norman Smith, Jr.); two brothers, Carl W. Harris, Jr. and Jerome Harris; two sisters-in-law, Edith Harris and Betty Hamilton; four granddaughters, Danyelle Tillman, Khalilah Tillman, Gabrielle Brown Tillman, and Ivery Tillman; seven great-grandchildren, Roosevelt Carson III, Raekwon Williams, Chiarie Lizana, Kianna Ruiz, Jose Ruiz, and Julius Ruiz; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-niece, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. Friends may visit one-hour prior to service. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Leach family.
