Deloros O'Dell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Services of East Alabama, Inc. - Anniston on Jan. 22, 2026.
Deloros "Jackie" Portwood O'Dell born September 8, 1949 to parents William Mason and Dewey Portwood.

The loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend passed on January 20, 2026.

Jackie was a compassionate soul that found happiness in many things around her. She loved to learn and enjoyed books on archeology. Always up to try a new recipe, you could often find her in the kitchen baking red velvet cake or something delicious. Best of all, she loved her flowers. Jackie had a green thumb to envy.

Jackie retired from AT&T after more than 30 years as a loyal employee. She made friends everywhere she went and loved to talk about her children and grandchildren.

Jackie leaves behind her loving husband, Gary.

Jackie is preceded in death by her eldest daughter Michelle O'Dell- Pointer and survived by her children and grandchildren: Kevin Pointer: Luke and Judd Pointer; Jessica O'Dell-Hicks (Ben): Waylon and Lorelai Hicks; Cody O'Dell (Ashley): Abram, Ada Luella, and Aila Mae O'Dell.

Jackie leaves behind her sister: Debra Freeman, sister in law: Sandra O'Dell Bittle, and family friends: the Heifners.

Arrangements to be made at a later time.

God's Garden

God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.

He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.

He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.

His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.

And knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw your path was difficult, he closed your tired eyes,

He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.

When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain, We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.

You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,

You live on through your children, you're always by our side.

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.

For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.
