In Loving Memory of Delvis Pagan Carrion
August 4, 1952 – November 11, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Delvis Pagan Carrion, who left us peacefully on November 11th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the proud and devoted mother of five - Sigfredo, Angel, Maria, Waleska, and Lucy - grandmother of 19, and great-grandmother of 14, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love.
A single mother and true warrior, Delvis faced every challenge in life with strength, grace, and determination. In 1978, she made the brave decision to leave Puerto Rico with her five children, determined to build a better life for them. Through every struggle, her love and devotion never wavered. She taught us how to cook, how to dance, and how to keep going no matter what life brought.
Even though we didn't grow up with much, she made sure we never went without. Every Christmas, there were always gifts under the tree, and she never missed a single birthday. Her love was in every detail, every celebration, every meal she made with care.
Her humor and joy filled our lives - from letting us put silly hats on her at stores to sneaking KitKats from the kids' Halloween bags. She loved her music, her Spanish novelas, her casino trips, and her coquito with plenty of Bacardi, a holiday favorite we'll never forget.
Our family traditions meant everything to her - Sunday dinners that kept us close, and every Fourth of July at Spruce Run Lake, grilling and laughing together. We may not have had much, but it was the best life: simple, full of love, and rich in memories that will last forever.
She was our queen - strong, funny, loving, and truly one of a kind. Before her illness, she used to joke, "Don't cry when I die, or I'll come back to pull your leg." And we say, please do, Mom - we'd give anything to feel your playful spirit again.
What an honor it has been to call her our mother. No one in this world could ever replace the amazing woman she was. We hope she's watching over us, proud of the family she built - and knows that just as she fought for us, we fought for her until the very end.
Her love, laughter, and lessons will remain in our hearts forever.
