Demetrice Phillips

Demetrice Brooks Phillips was born on March 1, 1939 in McRae, Georgia to Claresa Powers, adopted by Gladys and Robert Brooks. She was educated in Duval County school at Matthew Gilbert High School.

She later met and married James Phillips in Folkston, Georgia.

Demetrice was always very glamorous and posed. She worked as a Make-up artist with Flori Roberts. She later was a receptionist at the Lane Wiley Senior Center.

Demetrice Brooks Phillips departed this life on Saturday, February 28, 2026, one day before her birthday. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Demetrice was preceded in death by her husband James Phillips; mother Claresa Powers, Gladys Brooks; father Robert Brooks; and brothers Robert McRae and Charlie B. Clay.

Demetrice leaves to cherish her memory her children: Robin Presha, Tony Brooks, Bridgette Sharpton, Marty Brooks, Monika Stringfield (Tyrone), Tumika Anthony (Alex). Grandchildren: Javolyn Edwards, Jason Presha (Jackie), Brittany Sharpton, Darryl Sharpton, Brooke Sharpton, Blake Mondy, Olivia Mondy, Brycen Stringfield. Great-grandchildren: Jada Butacan, India Presha, Janae' Presha, Bria Brooks Sharpton, Dade Jackson Sharpton, Dakota Halo Davanzo-Sharpton, Cash higa Sharpton. Sister Linda Logue. Special friends: Mr. Lee, Kathy Griffin, Geneva Wilson, and Mazie Dougas; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
