CMSgt Denis D. Quill, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, in Shalimar, Florida, at the age of 83. Born on September 23, 1941, in Tralee, C/O Kerry, Ireland, Denis's journey led him to touch countless lives with his intelligence, kindness, and service.

Denis's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, his country, and his faith. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy "Dolly" Quill for 47 years, a bond that was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Although predeceased by his daughter Kathleen Dorothy Quill, his legacy lives on through his daughters Shannon Schumacker, with her husband Marcus, and Tara Star, with her husband Mark. His three grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life, will miss their grandfather's wisdom and gentle spirit.

In addition to his immediate family, Denis is survived by his adored pets, Ms. Kitten and Mr. Emett, his kittens, and Darby and Molly, his loyal dogs. His brothers and sisters in Ireland and England, along with many favorite friends, including Judd and Audi Heath, Lily, Zoe, C.J., and Roger Arsenault will fondly remember Denis for his warmth and camaraderie. He was preceded in death by his father, James Quill, and mother, Margaret O'Conner Quill.

Denis's educational journey began at Edmund Rice College in Dun Laoire, Ireland, where he graduated from high school. His pursuit of excellence continued as he embarked on a distinguished career in the United States Air Force on February 23, 1965, at Lackland AFB. Denis's dedication to service was evident throughout his career, culminating in his retirement on November 10, 1994, at Eglin AFB as a CMSgt. His valor as a highly decorated Vietnam Veteran spoke volumes about his courage and patriotism.

A devout Catholic, Denis lived his faith through his actions, always striving to embody the principles of compassion and charity. His interests were many, but above all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Those who knew Denis would describe him as an intelligent man, whose thoughtful approach to life's challenges was both inspiring and reassuring.

Denis D. Quill's life was a tapestry of love, service, and faith. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the legacy he leaves behind-a legacy of love, honor, and unwavering integrity.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the church at 10:00 AM with the rosary at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery with Hurlburt Air Force Base Honor Guard.
