I am so very sorry for your precious loss. May God who " heals the brokenhearted " provide comfort to your family in the days ahead.

I met Denise and Jimmy when her parents first moved to Huntsville, Tx. My Dad, Connie Shoemaker and Melvin Smith, Denise's Dad were friends. I remember spending the night with Denise at her house and laughing for hours before falling asleep. Jeannette and Melvin "threatened" us with "Fairy Water Sprinkles" (a family thing) if we didn't get quiet. I think we kept them awake! She loved her days as a twirler and the competitions. It was a thrill for her to compete and her beautiful smile and kind spirit shown through. Unfortunately, we lost touch after high school. I moved to Richardson Tx from Bellaire Tx in 2011 and had no idea she was so close to me! That makes me sad. But my heart is warmed to hear about her children, service to our Lord and her community. Wow! It is comforting to know we will see each other again !

Where do I start? I met Denise when we were in high school and we became close friends. She was such a big part of my high school and college days, the early days of our marriages, and starting our families. Like often happens, life got in the way and we lost touch over the years. However, when my husband passed away four years ago, Denise reached out to me, and we picked right back up as only old friends can do. We did a lot of texting and catching up, and I got to know Denise all over again. She was a wonderful woman of faith and optimism, even through very difficult times. She loved her family with all of her heart and I enjoyed hearing about her precious grandsons. She was so very proud of them! There are no words that can make this easier for Denise“s family but I hope that hearing how much she was loved, and the positive impact that she had on so many, will bring some comfort. Denise has left an amazing legacy of family, friends and accomplishments. RIP my beautiful sister-friend. You will always be in my heart, my mind, and my prayers, as will your beautiful family. Thank you for so many wonderful memories. I love you, always!

I first met Denise when her family moved to Huntsville. We were friends in middle school then more acquaintances in high school. It seems Denise had a wonderful, giving life that touched so many in her community.
May God comfort her family in the knowledge Denise is whole in His presence and that you will see her again.
