Denise Kay Brauchla

Denise Kay Brauchla won her battle with cancer and went to her heavenly home on Tuesday December 2, 2025 at noon. She passed peacefully with her husband Bevan of 53 years by her side.

Denise Kay Wiley was born on March 10, 1950 in Huntington to the late Earl and Zelma (Hillegas) Wiley. Before consolidation in 1966, she was a proud and loyal Bearcat of Huntington Township school. She graduated from Huntington high school in 1968 where she met her husband, Bevan Brauchla. They married March 4, 1972 in Huntington where they lived for 53 years. Denise worked at Huntington University for 35 years where she retired. She cherished her time on the campus and loved interacting with the students.

Denise's one true love was her family. They were all her pride and joy. She wore many hats. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, counselor, confidant and cheerleader for her family. Denise left a legacy of love that we can only hope to imitate. We look forward to sharing her stories for years to come as she will forever live on in our hearts.

Denise is survived by her husband Bevan Brauchla, sons Andrew (Heather) Brauchla of Indianapolis, IN and Aaron (Mindi) Brauchla of Huntington, IN. Four grandchildren Emerson and Easton of Indianapolis, IN and Watson and Weller of Huntington, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Zelma Wiley and two sisters Beverly Saylors and Pamela St. Clair. She was also preceded in death by a baby boy who has been patiently waiting to meet her.

A celebration of Denise's life will be held at Dogwood Glen, located at 753 E. 900 S., Warren, Indiana on Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 1-4 pm. Family and Friends are welcome to join and honor her memory in the warm, gracious spirit that she shared with all who knew her and enjoy Christmas cookies together. In lieu of flowers or gifts, Denise requested that any donations be made to her grandchildren.
