Denise DeGhetto

Denise Patricia DeGhetto affectionately known as Marti entered into eternal life peacefully at the age of 71 on Monday, February 14, 2022. Denise was born in Passaic, New Jersey on February 1, 1951 to Joseph and Carole (nee Borri) DeGhetto. Denise spent her formative years in Clifton, graduated from Clifton High School, Clifton, New Jersey, then relocated to Long Branch, New Jersey to attend Monmouth University in West Long Branch New Jersey where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree.
After graduating from Monmouth University, Denise began her teaching career in the Asbury Park School District where she worked for 36 years. Denise demonstrated her love for learning and creativity and passion for teaching in and out of the classroom. Most notably, early on in her career, during the Christmas Holiday Season she would take her students to local nursing homes where they would sing holiday song and perform routines choreographed by Denise. This was an annual event that the residents and students looked forward to.
Denise was a lover of humankind people and animals alike. She always had at least one pet, often times three or four. After retiring she enjoyed spending time at the local animal shelters to fulfill her love for animals. Denise's free spirit and outgoing personality were genuine. Throughout her life time Denise endeared herself to a diverse circle of friends who she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with.
She is survived by her beloved dog Bailey, her dear sister Carla Gouse and her husband Joseph, her nephew Joseph Christopher Gouse and his wife Jennifer, her niece Tara Haller and her husband Steven; four great-nephews and nieces Kyle Haller, Lindsay Gouse, Caden Haller and Luke Gouse; her close cousins Diane Mooney and her family and Dean and Diane DeGhetto and their families and Marge Demantti and her Ohio families. Her cherished friends Janice Anderson and Hilda Perez and the entire Perez family and extended family and friends who mourn her passing.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 22 from 3-6 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home in Long Branch. May her memory be eternal and may she always be granted everlasting life.
