I've just heard of Denise's passing and would like to express my deepest condolences.
I believe the inspiration for naming her daughter, was the fact that mine is named Carly.
She was a dedicated mother, and so proud of her Carly's accomplishments.
May she rest in peace.

My Family and the Giorgio family were friends when we lived in NE Phila. I've known Denise since I was 4 and we were playmates when our parents used to get together. I'm so sorry for your loss and I'll always have fond memories of her.

My heart is heavy and my mind is full of so many special memories with Denise. We started as next door neighbors in our 20's and continued a friendship sharing weddings, and childbirth( we were together shopping when I went into labor) and in no time, Michael and Howard became best friends. Every Christmas at Denise's was filled with fun, love and an abundance of delicious food. Her hospitality was overwhelming. We shared the joys and challenges of motherhood as Marlee and Carly were born one week apart and became best of friends. When Brooke was born 4 years later Denise showered her with love and affection and she soon became part of the Marlee/ Carly sleepovers. Along with the fun times, we also supported each other through the death and illness of our loved ones. I always enjoyed our many deep conversations about life. We will keep Denise's spirit alive by sharing all these beautiful memories. Howard and Carly, the love and support of your friends and family will hold you up and get you through this unbearably difficult time.

I remember the day Carly and Katie met as infants. Denise and I planned how they would be lifelong friends. I can't believe her kind spirit is gone from this earth way too soon. Lots of fun times traveling but my favorite times were in Ann Zerillos kitchen. Denise and Katie's grand mom drank coffee on end and watching our two girls play together or watch Barney always coming to the table when Mom Z brought out the Italian cookies. Loved watching Denise cook while we watched Eagles games with Howie. I remember when Katie got into Penn State and how thrilled she was that our girls would be at the same school. She always made me feel comfortable and I will miss her twinkling eyes when she was excited about something Carly had accomplished. Rest is peace sweet Denise and watch over Carly and Howie as they walk in the valley

Denise was the most amazing woman. Her heart was so big and she treated all of Carly's friends as her own children. She put everyone first and had a smile and laugh that could light up the room. I'll never forget the late night talks and hanging outside on the back deck. I'll never forget the hospitality she provided and how full of life she was. I know she's now resting in the sweetest peace and looking down on everyone who's lives she touched. I love you forever, my second mom. - Darian

I always looked forward to celebrating Christmas with the Dougherty family. Denise always spoiled me and gave me the best gifts and always gave me extra eggnog when my mom said no more! She was a truly wonderful woman with a big heart and a big smile on her face. She will be missed by so many but she will always be in our hearts. Rest in peace Denise, we love you so.

Aunt Denise,
Your presence was always warm and welcoming. You were one of the most loving and caring people I know. Your smile was infectious and is something I will never forget. I know you are at peace now, I am just sorry for how it came to be. We all love and miss you incredibly. I know you will be watching over Carly and Uncle Howard, keep them whole. We all will never forget you.
Love always,
