Denise Marie (Slusher) LaBoube, 66 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at New Haven Living Center in Odessa, MO surrounded by family.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at First Christian Church, 224 W. Dryden St., Odessa, MO, 64076. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the church. Interment will be in the Odessa Cemetery in Odessa, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family in care of Doug LaBoube for donations to be split between youth organizations and a scholarship. Memories of Denise and condolences for her family may be left at or on our Facebook Page. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524.
Denise was born on January 24. 1956 in Odessa to Robert Frank and Janice Elaine (Smith) Slusher. She graduated from Odessa High School class of 1974. On April 19, 1975, Denise was united in marriage to Douglas Ray LaBoube in Odessa. Throughout her career, Denise worked at Action Products for 22 years and the Bank of Odessa for 15 years, developing numerous friendships along the way. Denise was also incredibly active and committed to the community of Odessa. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Karen Hand Bell Choir, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and multiple Booster Clubs in Odessa. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Denise was an avid Royals baseball and Chiefs Football fan. But, her greatest joy was supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events. Grandma Boo was the ultimate cheerleader. There was no better wife, mom or grandma.
Denise is Survived by her husband, Doug LaBoube of Odessa, MO; parents, Robert and Janice Slusher of Odessa, MO; four children, Jessica Porter and husband Bobby of Odessa, MO, Cory LaBoube and wife Maggie of Odessa, MO, Nick LaBoube and wife AnnaLisa of Jefferson City, MO, and Colby LaBoube and wife Kelsey of Independence, MO; ten grandchildren, Emery LaBoube, Dylan Porter, Brooks LaBoube, Devin LaBoube, Wyatt Porter, Owen LaBoube, Grady LaBoube, Isaac LaBoube, Hudson LaBoube, and Otto LaBoube; one brother, Kyle Slusher and wife Megan of Odessa, MO; one sister Martha White and husband Lynn of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Marcie Slusher of Chesapeake Bay, VA; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Denise was preceded in death by her brother; Brad Slusher.
