I cannot believe it has been 17 years since you were taken from our Thunder Lake family. I remember the countless beach sits, the fire talks, and our walks. I wonder what life is like for you now ? I bet it is more amazing that ever ! Still think about you often.

There is not a single day that goes by without thinking of Denise. I still have a voice mesage form her that is on my cell phone that she left the end of November - I will never erase it. My heart aches every day, I miss her so much.

Denise was such a beautiful, courageous, graceful woman. I am so glad I had the chance to tell her how much I admired her and how she carried herself. I doubt if I could do it as well as she did. I was so sad to hear of her passing. I will really miss her. May your memories sustain you all. God bless......

Tori & Tony,
Though I never meet your mother in person I only spoke to her over the phone but from just that much contact with her I could tell that she was a person with good character and both of you are very much like that. My family is praying that your family will be comforted.

Dion, Anthony and Victoria.

I was and still am shocked to hear of the passing of Denise.
I am so very upset that I didn’t find out until after the funeral.
When my house caught fire last February, your wife and mommy
Was there for me in so many ways.
She was there to comfort me, even though I didn’t know her.
She was there to offer help in any way possible, even though she had never spoken a word to me.
She was there to defend me in times I needed defending.
She walked past my house every day she could and took pictures just to show me that People were working on my house.
She put all those pictures on a CD for me and hand delivered it to me.
I got a chance to thank her, but not the way I wanted to.
We were going to get together at my house or yours for a “girl pow-wow.”
I never got that time; I never got the chance to thank her for her help.
I never got the chance to show her that her courage helped me on my journey.
I thought about her last week, wondering where she was and just figured it was
too cold for her to come out.
I was waiting for the weather to warm up just so I could catch her and talk with her.
I am so sorry. I want you, Dion, to know that your wife was the most wonderful, Caring, loving individual.
I want you, Anthony and Victoria, to know your mommy loves you so much. Your
Mommy cared about people and never let her illness stop her from hoping, caring and loving.
Please accept my deepest condolences.
If there is anything, anything at all, that I can do for any of you; Please ask…

Dion, Tori And Tony,
I new your wife/mom for 30 years, we were in the 4th grade together at Jefferson Elementary. We went to the same junior high and graduated together from Blaine High School. We went to each other's weddings and finally enjoyed watching our girls dance together and become such good friends.
Please know that I feel deeply grateful to have been part of her life and she will be in my heart forever. Not a day will go by that I won't think of her and miss her.
She was such an incredibly strong woman and I know she is with God in Heaven where they both are showering you with strength and never-ending love.
I consider her to be one of my dearest friends and I want you to know Dion, Tori and Tony that I feel the same about you because I see parts of her in each of you and that gives me great joy and peace to know that she will live on through you.
God bless you and keep you safe.

Dear Dion, Tori and Tony and Denise’s Family,

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I work at the ESC in the department Denise was in. She was always so kind, helpful and had a wonderful upbeat spirit about her. She talked a lot about her family and she was very proud of each of you. Everyone thought the world of her and she was well respected. She’s in Gods hands now and is no longer in pain. You will be in my thoughts and prayers for a very long time.

Blessings to you!

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

I only knew Denise for a short period of time, but I would look forward to the days that I worked at Sandburg because she was always positive and friendly. Even during her illness, I was inspired to try to live better because of the effect that she had on me and everyone around her. Knowing Denise has given me new insight into the meaning of the word "grace", which she exhibited each day.

To Denise' family: Thank you for sharing this kind and gentle woman with the rest of us.
