Denise Beauchamp Patterson passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024. Denise was born to JoAnn Kreeger Beauchamp and William Ray Beauchamp, Jr. on October 28, 1954 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English in 2011 from University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, the highest academic honor available. She had previously earned an associate degree in paralegal studies. For over two decades, Denise dedicated herself to a career as a paralegal with Davis and Hamrick, LLP in Winston-Salem.
Denise was an accomplished stitcher and quilter, earning recognition for her smocked children's clothes and samplers. She volunteered with the Master Gardener horticulture program and found joy in cooking, watching sports, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Denise is preceded in death by her loving parents. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Patterson Kaplan of Huntersville, NC and Emily Patterson English and husband Philip of Chapel Hill, NC. Her grandchildren, Hattie Quinn English and Bennett Harden English brought immeasurable joy to her life. She is also survived by her brothers, Dennis Beauchamp and wife Kim Beauchamp, and Perry Hayes and wife Beth Hayes, along with five nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Denise's life will be held at Knollwood Baptist Church on February 15, 2024 at 2:00pm with Dr. Bob Setzer officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service. A private burial will be held at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. Memorial contributions may be made to Knollwood Baptist Church. The family extends gratitude to the physicians, nurses and staff at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist for their exceptional care.
