Denise Ranieri Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Abbey Cremation Service - Rocky Hill on Mar. 13, 2026.
Denise G. Ranieri, 72, of Branford, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, surrounded by family and friends after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on March 13, 1953, in Tarrytown, NY, to Saverio and Hazel Ranieri. She graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School and spent her career working for the U.S. Postal Service.

She leaves behind her most beloved son, Anthony Gaudino, and his partner, Caitlin. She is also survived by her partner of many years, Ralph, and her best friend, Cathy, and dear friends Vicky and Ronnyann. They will remember her for her love of clamming at Chaffinch Island and for antique hunting. Most of all, she will be remembered as a truly devoted mother and a loyal, fierce friend.

Her family and friends would like to thank the staff and care team at Yale New Haven Hospital and Smilow Cancer Hospital for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, Denise's family asks that donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.

There are no formal services at this time, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
