Dear Schmid Family, I am holding each of you close in my heart. Denise had a way of making everyone feel welcomed, seen, and loved - including me. From the first time I met her, she treated me like family, and I will always be grateful for her warmth, kindness, sarcastic humor and her nicknames to so many phrases.

Zack is one of my most cherished friends, and so much of who he is - his loyalty and his huge heart - comes from the love and foundation Denise gave him. Her spirit will live on through all of you, and through every life she touched.

I never had the pleasure of meeting your mom but from the person you are and what I've learned about her; I know that she was an amazing and most of all kind and caring person who I know will be deeply missed. I hope that your memories of her and beautiful moments shared together will keep you and your family comfort. Know that our loved ones really never leave us but stay alive in us.
