Denise "Renee" Speedone, 59, of Dunnegan, MO, formerly of Adrian, MO, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at her home.Funeral services were held Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, Missouri.
Renee Speedone was born December 19, 1966, to Lee Wilson and Gwendolyn Jean (Hawks) Wilson in Olathe, KS. She grew up in LaCygne and attended Prairie View High School and graduated in 1985. She had a long career working for the Internal Revenue Service and retired in 2023. She was a proud mother to her daughters, Amber and Ashley, and an especially proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a woman of strong faith in Jesus Christ and attended church regularly. Renee found joy in spending time in the country, surrounded by nature, tending to her flowers and plants, and taking tons of photos. She loved shopping and had great taste in fashion. She attended countless concerts and loved sharing those moments with people who meant the most to her. Renee had a wonderful sense of humor and a kind heart. She knew her way around a kitchen and enjoyed cooking. She loved spending time with her family, whether it was fishing with her father, spoiling her grandchildren, or spending time with her fiancé, Jeff Hurd, and her dogs.
Denise Renee Speedone is preceded in death by mother, Gwendolyn Wilson, and daughter, Amber Lyn Payne. She is survived by her fiancé, Jeff Hurd of Dunnegan, MO; daughter, Ashley Nicole (Morgan) Sanders of Harrisonville, MO; father, Lee (Mary) Wilson of LaCygne, KS; brother, Heath Wilson of Garden City, MO; grandchildren: Kalli (Ethan) Bates, Bryson Sanders, Bailey Sanders, Taylor Penn, Bentlee Sanders, Alana Penn, Colton Sanders, and Dallas Sanders; 2 great-grandchildren; Charlotte and Maverick Bates; nephew, Jason Wilson; niece Casey (Andrew) Laughlin.
