Dennis Alderfer Obituary
Dennis Alderfer was born on July 15, 1961, in Peru, Indiana, to the late Clyde and Patricia (Mellinger) Alderfer. He graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 1980 and went on to dedicate 26 years of his career as a Press Operator at Midwest Spring in Mentone.
A proud servant of his community, Dennis volunteered with the Mentone Fire Department for 16 years and also lent his time to the former Mentone EMS service. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, cheering for his team through every season.
Above all, Dennis cherished his role as a grandfather. His grandchildren were the center of his world, and he was truly the best grandpa.
He is survived by his daughters Heather Bentley of Warsaw and Tiffany Bentley of Mentone; son James Alderfer of Arizona; grandchildren Makayla, Kaiden, Harper, Brody, Lyric, Bryelle, Angela, Hanna, Hailey, Lily, and Mason; sisters Becky Davis of Florida and Carol Alderfer of Florida; brother David and wife Brenda Alderfer of Mentone; and best friend Dean Quier.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, brother Danny, sister Lisa Alderfer, brother-in-law Calvin Davis, and sister-in-law Kathy Alderfer.
A celebration of life will take place from 2 pm to 4 pm, Sunday, December 7, 2025 in the Mentone Fire Station 201 W Main St, Mentone, IN 46539.
The arrangement s have been entrusted to King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the funeral home to help with expenses.
