Send FlowersDennis R. Baden, 75, of Montpelier passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on Feb. 27, 1950, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to Albert and Florence (Risser) Baden. Denny graduated from Montpelier High School in 1969.
Denny was a member of the Montpelier Moose, where he was at one time a governor and served on the board. He was also a volunteer fireman, and was appointed Montpelier Fire Chief in 1978. Denny retired from Winzeler Stamping in 2015 after many years. He then started his own mowing business. At one time he also owned and operated Baden Tool Rental in Montpelier. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Denny is survived by his daughter Nikki (John Gallehue) Frantom of Montpelier; grandsons, Garret (Jessi) Frantom of Pioneer and Heath Frantom of Montpelier; and great-granddaughter Andi Frantom. He was preceded in death by his father Albert Baden, mother Florence (Baden) Field and sisters, Letha and Becky Willet.
Visitation for Denny will be on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 2-7 p.m. and from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier. Services will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Jeff Lehman to officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Memorial contributions may be given to the Montpelier Fire Department or the Montpelier Moose. Condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
