Dennis Belcher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alford's Mortuary on Aug. 22, 2024.
Dennis Deon Belcher, 52, of South Bend, IN entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Dennis was born on March 18, 1972, in South Bend, IN to Henry Belcher and Beatrice Davis Dawson. Both parents preceded him in death.
Dennis was very much loved, and he loved his family. Dennis and his daughter Tyonda when together were very "goofy" and at times would act like a "party" was going on. Dennis loved to dance, he loved to go to the casino and he loved going to bingo with his sisters Darnisha and Brenda. He worked for the South Bend Tribune for 12 years. He served in the National Guard for 10 years. Dennis was one of the cleanest people you would know. Dennis loved to laugh, and he had a great sense of humor. Dennis could also freeform "rap" on the spot with such great musicality.
Those left to cherish his many memories are four children: Tyrus Belcher, Tyonda Belcher, Tyon Belcher and Tyrese Belcher; also to cherish his memories are six sisters, Pammela Dawson of Marietta, GA, Brenda Dawson of Dallas, TX, Bridget Brann of Chesapeake, VA, Darnisha Dawson Hill of Acworth, GA, Patricia Brazil (Dennis Brazil) of Atlanta, GA, Renee Daniel (William) of South Bend, IN; his long-time companion Belinda Watts and her daughter Jeromy Lewis (Darryl); a bonus mom Christine Ottbridge; one brother, Daryl Ivan Dawson, Jermelle Jones (Bianca) who he loved as a son; his grandchildren Nevaeh Watford, Nathan Johnson, Nyla Lindsey and Lyric Belcher along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces/nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and family friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his sister Sonya Belcher and his brothers Anthony Dawson and Edmund Dawson, his maternal grandparents Rev. Davis S. Davis Sr. and Lettie Mae Davis and his uncles and aunts.
Services for Dennis Deon Belcher will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Alford's Mortuary, 1222 Napier St., South Bend, IN 46601. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and Services at 11:00 a.m.
