Dennis Lyle Christenson

Dennis Lyle Christenson passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2022. He was born on November 22, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to the late Alfred E. (1961) and Mable V. (nee Harrison) (1993) Christensen. Dennis served in the US Navy and spent much of his time on Attu Island, Alaska. He grew up in Akron and then moved to Green in 1958 where they raised a wonderful family, then moving on to their beautiful lakefront home on East Reservoir/Portage Lakes, then to Suffield, and finally to Uniontown. Dennis retired from Ohio Bell in 1980, and then worked for Thomas & Betts as a consultant, which allowed him and Betty to travel the country. They also spent many winters in New Port Richey, Florida at the Gardens of Beacon Square. He served as a Master Mason, Grand Army of Princes of the Royal Secret, Thirty-second Degree at the New Franklin Lodge No. 803 F & A.M of Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty D. (Mayer) (2013), son-in-law Josef Fickert (2022). He is survived by daughters Dawne Fickert, Carole Christenson, and Cynthia (Reinhold) Scheks all of Hartville, son Dennis Eric (Marie) of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren Jason (Andrea) and Justin Walker, Todd and Amy Christenson, Christopher (Blair) and Aaron (Danae) Scheks, Erika (Jeff) Tallman; great-grandchildren Emma, Ty, Elizabeth and Chase Walker; Johnny Morganti; Sloane, Hunter, Berkley, and Finley Scheks; Aria, Mila, and Briggs Tallman.
Dennis has donated his body to science, cremation and burial will take place at a later date at Rose Hill Burial Park (Fairlawn).
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2023 at 5 PM at Greentown Fire Department, 10100 Cleveland Ave NW, Uniontown, OH 44685.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Uniontown Fire Department, 13055 Oakwood Ave NW, Uniontown Ohio 44685.
