Dennis Carroll Cooke, 74, passed away on December 31, 2025. Born June 5, 1951, he was the husband of Cheryl T. Cooke and a son of the late Annie Kate Riley.
Dennis attended Spartanburg High School and spent his working life as a flooring installer, a trade he knew well and took pride in. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and fishing, simple pleasures that brought him peace and enjoyment. He was a former member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a current member of Morningstar Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of 44 years, Dennis is survived by his daughters, Angela Wright (Jamie), Renee McKeen (Darryl), Mandy Carter (Patrick), Michelle Hall (John), and Jennifer Carter (Johnny); his grandchildren; Caleb Cooke, Chelsea Ellwanger, Bailey Horne, Katie Webb, Kennedy Carter, Spencer Hall, Cameron Carter, Peyton Carter, and Hudson Carter, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one sister, Lynn Bailey, and his beloved dog, Brody. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Steadman and Tony Riley.
He is also lovingly remembered by close friends; Michelle Strength and Jamie Caldwell. The family would like to give a special thanks to his caregivers; Alexis, Jasie, Molly, Lindsay, and Dr. Nguyen of Spartanburg Regional.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 2:30 until 3:15 p.m., at Morning Star Baptist Church, Pacolet, SC with the funeral service to follow at 3:30 p.m. The service will be conducted by Rev. Michael Rochester.
A private burial will be held in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
