Dennis M. Currie, 55, of Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Dennis was born on February 27, 1970, in Sharon, a son of Dennis C. and Colleen (Thomas) Currie. A lifelong area resident, he was a 1989 graduate of Hickory High School.
A jack of all trades, Dennis was formerly employed by his father at Lang Currie Brown Septic Tanks. Eventually, he began welding, owning and operating DCI Installations, where he assembled truck beds for Miller Industries. Most recently, he worked for Wilson’s Excavating, New Wilmington.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed watching sprint car racing, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Dennis was a member of the American Legion, Post 432, Wheatland, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6166, Hermitage.
He is survived by his wife, the former Tammy Bungar, whom he married on September 7, 1991; his father, Dennis, both of Hermitage; two children, Chad Currie and his wife, Amber, of Transfer, and Jasmine Currie, of Poland, OH; two grandchildren, Russell Currie and Paxton Robinson; and one more grandchild on the way. Also surviving is four sisters, Sherry Kriebel and her husband, Kenny, of Wheatland, Denise Adams and her husband, Jeff, of Fredonia, Kimberly Jones and her husband, Greg, of Corpus Christi, TX, and Sue Ellen Sopko and her husband, Ron, of S. Pymatuning Twp.; his beloved dog, Princess; and several nieces and nephews.
Dennis is joining his deceased mother, Colleen; a sister, Donna DiClaudio; and his brother, John Matthew Currie.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday (12/18/2025) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will immediately follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Anthony Kladitis officiating.
