Dennis Dickerson Obituary

Dennis "Denny" Dickerson
Dennis "Denny" Mahlon Dickerson, 71, of Midland, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025.
He was born January 18, 1954, in Midland to Glenn and Ilene Dickerson. He graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1972 and then enrolled in a local welding school. He worked for Pipefitters Local 636 for many years, excelling in stainless steel and copper welding. This work led him to work in the kitchen of many upscale restaurants around the state of Michigan.
He loved wildlife and feeding the many varieties of birds in his yard .... they afforded him many hours of enjoyment, and it kept them happy and fed too.
Denny loved his Detroit Tigers. He never missed a game, either watching on TV or listening to his beloved Tigers on the radio. Story has it; while working in the Detroit area, he and Larry would sneak out of work early to see the Tigers play! He also knew a lot of history and facts of baseball ... being able to recall player's stats at a moments notice. He was also a Detroit Lions fan ~ again, hardly ever missed a game on TV.
Hobbies included ice fishing, deer hunting (bow only) and turkey hunting in Lake City. One of Denny's favorite places was Drummond Island (in the U.P.). He made many trips up there with his hunting and fishing buddies, all the while making memories to last a lifetime.
Denny leaves many good friends behind, to mention a few are his best buddy, Jim DuLude (and his sons, Tucker and Austin), who used to take him holiday plates of food on Thanksgiving and Christmas; Larry Walton, who he worked with and was friends with for many years; Bob Day, a longtime friend and neighbor; and Julie Ruppel, his nearest neighbor.
Denny is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Jody (Steve) Jean; two nephews and their families, Kyle (Heather) Jean and Eva and Lincoln; and Derek (Nicole) Jean and Riley and Colton. He was predeceased by his parents, Glenn and Ilene Dickerson; and his former wife, Barb (Vallancourt) Dickerson.
Private graveside services will be held for immediate family at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Auburn.

Denny was a regular customer at Sanford Subway and was always as polite as could be. Always had a smile, and we had nice chats. He will be missed. Prayers to the family and friends at this time of loss.
