Dennis Diller, 95, of Coldwater passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Saturday, December 20, 2025. He was born April 14, 1930, in St. Anthony to the late Albert & Bernadine (Homan) Diller. On October 22, 1955 he married Carma (Kahlig) Diller and she preceded him in death on December 27, 2020.
Dennis is also survived by his children, Debra Diller of Columbus, Diane & Ralph Alig of Coldwater, Mark & Cindy Diller of Bowling Green, Doris & Rick Goettemoeller of Coldwater, Gary & Tina Diller of Coldwater, and Denise & Fred Kleinhenz of Maria Stein, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, siblings and in-laws, Helen Diller of Coldwater, Ralph & Margie Diller of Maria Stein, Howard May of St. Henry, Mary Ann Diller of St. Anthony, Edna Shepherd of Columbus, and Carol & Dick Burkardt of Florida. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son David Diller, siblings and in-laws, Donna May, Urban Diller, Jim & Mary Westrich, Joe Diller, Marcene (Kahlig) & Edward Buehler, and Ernie Kahlig. He was also preceded by Scott Shafer.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Dennis was a member of the United States Army and Coldwater Eagles. He retired after 40 years at Mersman Bros. and several years at Pax Machine. He appreciated the Pax family for the opportunity to work there until his retirement years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, attending farm machinery auctions, collecting antique tractors and farm life in general. His joy in life was his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 am, Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice or Mercer County Right to Life. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the parish priests that allowed him to continue the Sacrament of Holy Communion during his homebound years and to the staff of EverHeart Hospice.
