Dennis passed away December 11, 2022 with his children by his side.
He was born August 23, 1956 in Beach, ND to Sylvester and Frances (Wicka) Efta. He grew up in Wibaux, MT, graduating with the class of ’75. Following high school, Denny moved to Bozeman where he attended MSU for a couple years. After college, he worked a year in the oilfield with his late friend Gary Hartse. He began his career in construction while working at a sawmill in Missoula, which is what led him to start Dennis Efta Construction. Dennis was a well-regarded contractor, constructing many buildings, remodels, additions and concrete projects in Eastern Montana with the help of his sons and many employees over the years. He was never lacking demand for his services. He met his first wife, Ruth, and together they had Christopher. Dennis met the love his life, Robin, in 1996 and he adopted their three children – Hilary, Quincy, and Joey. The two married in 2003. They made their home on the farm 13 miles south of Wibaux.
Dennis loved working the ranch when he wasn’t putting in hours for his construction company. But above all, his family came first. He was a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings, even if they seemed to be more of a source of frustration for him. He and Robin often spent Sunday afternoons cruising the back roads, catching up on the kids and weekly events, listening to nothing but classic rock. After her passing in 2005, he continued his Sunday backroad drives to visit Robin at St. Phillips, where he will lay to rest right beside her.
Dennis is survived by his children, Hilary (Michael) Brown, Quincy (Amy) Efta, Joey Efta, Chris (Angela) Efta, and Beth (Casey) Marsing; siblings Ron Efta, Joe Efta, and Renee (Thomas) Nelson; granddaughter, Margaret; and step-siblings Jack (Claudine) O’Connor, Nick (Herchel) O’Connor, Danny (Lynette) O’Connor, and Janice Iverson.
He is preceded by his parents and wife, Robin Efta.
