Dennis Gallardo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Florence Mortuary on Dec. 5, 2025.
Dennis Leroy Gallardo, age 70, passed away on December 4, 2025, at his residence in
Florence, Colorado.

Born on August 3, 1955, in Pueblo, Colorado to the late Paul and Beatrice Gallardo,
Dennis grew up with strong family roots and a deep sense of loyalty and work ethic.
Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Navy from July 1975 until his
honorable discharge in July 1978. During his service, he was stationed aboard the USS
Joseph Strauss and worked in water transportation. Dennis carried the same dedication
of his military tenure into every chapter of his life. A talented and respected stucco
mason, he helped build and shape many beautiful homes throughout Fremont County
and surrounding communities. For the past 14 years, Dennis devoted himself to multiple
area school districts, where he took pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment
for students, staff, and families.

A simple, grounded man, Dennis found joy in the quiet moments-sitting on his back
porch, listening to music, and appreciating the peace of the day. During the fall, he
loved cheering on the Denver Broncos and could always be found rooting for his team
on game days. However, his favorite pastime was escaping to the mountains to fish,
where he felt most at ease.

Dennis was preceded in death by his sister, Antoinette G. Holcomb, and his brother,
Paul "Sonny" Gallardo, Jr. He is survived by his special friend, Annette Crespin; nieces
Tina Dancer and Tonya Sweeney; nephews Steven Welch and Donovan Gallardo; and
a loving host of cousins. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Union Highland Cemetery in
Florence, Colorado at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Holt Family
Funeral Home.
