Dennis James Good

Dennis James Good, 58, passed away on September 28, 2025, in Benton, Illinois. Born on May 27, 1967, in Cottage Grove, Oregon, to his parents Larry Good and Patricia (Whitted) Good. Dennis spent his formative years in Dixon, Missouri, where he attended school and began laying the foundation for life marked by service, family devotion, and a spirited sense of fun.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Dennis served his country honorably during Desert Storm. His time in the military reflected his deep commitment to duty and patriotism qualities that remained with him throughout his life. On April 11, 2015, Dennis married Linda (Easley) Good in Benton, Illinois. Their union brought together a loving and blended family that was central to Dennis's world. He is remembered by his children: Tyler Good and his spouse Hillary, Joshua Good and his spouse Samantha Bohannon, and daughter Chynna Good and her spouse Andrew Rief all of Belleville, Illinois. He also embraced his stepchildren as his own: David Jennings, Andrew Jennings, and Jon Snyder with spouse Van Snyder all of Benton, Illinois. Dennis was proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Summer Bova, Sydney Good, Lucas Good, Scarlet Deloach, Skyler Dolmage, Graysen Snyder-and two grandchildren he helped raise with special care and love Alexander Jennings and Jaden Jennings.
He is also survived by his mother Patricia Good; brother Tracey Good, nephew Bryce Good all of Dixon, Missouri and mother-in-law Carol Easley of Benton, Illinois .
He was preceded in death by his father Larry Good and his grandparents.
Dennis had a zest for life that shone through in the simple joys he cherished. He loved attending bingo nights at the American Legion every Thursday and never missed Oueen of Hearts on Wednesdays. An enthusiastic online bidder, he found great enjoyment browsing for treasures on his favorite site Bippity Bop. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and St. Louis Blues hockey fan. He formed many friendships through all of these activities.
His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life lived with heart and humor.
