Dennis Grissom

Floyd Dennis Grissom passed away Tuesday, December 26th in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at DCH Hospital. Dennis is survived by his son, Alan Grissom (of Nashville TN), wife Natalie Grissom, and their children, Alan Grissom Jr, Laurel Grissom and Bailey Grissom; and his daughter, Ashley Grissom Malone (of Tuscaloosa AL), husband Kerry Malone and their children Evan Malone and Maggie Malone. He is also survived by his brothers Wayne (Mary Sue) Grissom, Ken (Julia) Grissom and sister Dovie Vanderford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Dorothy along with brothers Charlie, Gary and Eddie aka "Skeet". A lifelong resident of Piedmont, Dennis was born on November 27, 1945 and was soon an accomplished businessman where he spent the next 45 years at his beloved restaurant, Grissom's Dari King. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family, coaching his children in sports and later watching his grandchildren play. He served in the National Guard and was a member of Piedmont's First United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home in Piedmont Al, on Friday December 29, 2017 at 2:00 pm. with the Rev. Michael Ingram officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 until 2:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers and in the spirit of Dennis, the family asks that memorials be made to Piedmont's Benevolence Center.
