Dennis Lee Harris, age 74, of
Waynesville, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning, November 3, 2025. He was born on October 2, 1951, in his West Plains Missouri home, to Kenneth and Dessie Harris. Dennis lived a life marked by quiet strength, generosity, and deep devotion to his wife of 51 years, Sharon, his family, and his friends.
He graduated school from the College of the Ozarks, and while working during his school years there, an encounter with Sam Walton changed the course of his life and set him on a career path with Walmart. For nearly 30 years, Dennis poured his energy into the company he loved and the communities where he managed stores, earning not only the respect of his peers but also the genuine affection of countless associates.
To his family and friends, Dennis was more than a provider-he was a steady source of love, gentle guidance, and encouragement. His patience, generosity, and counsel were constants, shaping the lives of those who knew him.
Dennis found peace in the outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply taking in the beauty around him. Nothing, however, brought him greater happiness than his seven grandchildren. He lit up in their presence, and every moment spent with them was a source of great joy for him.
Dennis will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Sharon Harris of the home; three children: Jodi Layman (Tim) of Camdenton, MO, Darrin Harris (Jenny) of Bentonville, AR, and Leslie Alford (Donald) of
Waynesville, MO; seven grandchildren: Nathaniel Luebbering of Jefferson City, MO, Nicholas Datt of
Waynesville, MO, Alyssa Layman of Columbia, MO, Collin Harris of Bentonville, AR, Libby Harris of Bentonville, AR, Kammi Layman of Camdenton, MO, and Lincoln Alford of
Waynesville, MO; one brother: Charlie Harris (Connie) of West Plains, MO; one sister: Judy Judd (Kenny) of Hollister, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Kenneth and Dessie Harris; younger brother: Kenny Doyle Harris; and older brother: Kenneth Dean Harris who passed shortly after his birth.
Even though he is gone from our sight, Dennis' spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
