Dennis Wayne Hodge, a man esteemed for his skilled craftsmanship and zest for life, passed away at the age of 73 on October 27, 2025, in Jonesboro, AR. Born on December 14, 1951, in Manila, Arkansas, Dennis lived a life full of passion and dedication, leaving a legacy of love, hard work, and fond memories.
Dennis was admired by many for his remarkable talents as a skilled carpenter. His hands were not just tools of his trade but instruments through which he crafted not only structures but also the bonds of friendship and community through his tireless service. Beyond the sawdust and blueprints, Dennis possessed an array of interests that added a richness to his life and those around him. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Dennis's love for woodworking extended beyond his vocation, as he found joy in creating beautiful and intricate pieces that brought joy to others.
Motorcycles were another of Dennis's great passions. He cherished the sense of freedom and adventure that came with every ride.
Dennis was a Christian man who professed his faith to Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Hodge and Earlene Maynard; brother, David Hodge; and sister, Cynthia Clark
Survivors include his son, Shawn Hodge; daughter, Sherri Bowers; stepdaughter, Ambie Slayton; sisters, Linda Davidson, Angie Huckabee, Melanie Harris, Michelle Romero (Joe); grandchildren, Cody Pierce, Lauren McClain (Chad), Drew Cole (Victoria), Sydney Cole, Meagan Cole, Abigail Cole; and great grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth McClain, Chatham Pierce, Wednesday Pierce, and Ryker Cole.
A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 30, at Linwood Cemetery with Packy Magel officiating.
