MOUNT CARMEL - Dennis Marcelle "Marty" Jones, 75, of Mount Carmel, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, following complications from heart surgery.
Born in Kingsport on January 20, 1950, son of the late Benjamin Jones II and Juanita Ketron McDavid. Marty graduated from Gate City High School and retired from Eastman Chemical Company in 2015 after 40 years of service. Marty will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, dad, brother, friend, and grandfather. He was an avid golfer and deer hunter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carita Jones Scott and a brother, Theodore Darryl Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Sheri Ragle Jones, son Andy Jones (Brittany), daughter Casey Jones Adams (Josh ), step daughter Heather Brock, stepson Tyler Bowen (Amber), sisters Viola Jeraldine Jones Taranto (Joseph) of Nashua NH, Rosemary Jones Hicks of Kingsport, Brenda Jones Thornburg (Jeff) of Fall Branch, stepsister, Marie Miller of WV, brothers Ben Jones (Doris) of Gate City, Robert "R.C" McDavid of Jonesville, VA, brother-in-law, Brian Ragle (Scott ); sister-in-law Brenda Jones; grandchildren Damien, Callie, Jovie, Bo, Easton, Evy, Owen, Cayden, Laylah, Axton and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve Wade and Pastor David Poore officiating. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:45 AM.
Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Jones, Rick Tipton, Tyler Bowen, Kenneth Ragle, Jason Hartsock, Brian Ragle and Jeff Peters.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dave Jones, Donnie Jones, and his beloved golfing buddies.
