Dennis Charles Letsch, 67, of Lucas, Kansas, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was the youngest child of Richard “Dick” and Cecilia “Sally” (Boden) Letsch, born on July 8, 1958, in Lucas, Kansas. Dennis and his older siblings, Shirley and Ronnie, grew up on the farm north of Luray until 1958, when they moved close to town. Dennis enjoyed growing up in Luray and becoming a lifelong resident, enjoying the quiet country living. Dennis graduated from Luray High School in 1976. In 1975, Dennis was a member of the Luray High School Panther football team that earned them the 8-Man State Champions. Dennis sported jersey #12 proudly. After high school graduation, Dennis helped his family on the farm and with Letsch Custom Harvesting.
August 21, 2000, Dennis was united in marriage to Jeannine DeWitte in Rochester, Minnesota. The couple recently celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. Dennis welcomed Jeannine’s 6-year-old child, Olivia. Olivia would call Dennis “Daddy D” and eventually “Dad” as years went on.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and brother-in-law, Shirley and Gerald Casper.
Those mourning his passing are his wife Jeannine of the home, daughter Olivia DeWitte of Kansas City, Missouri and her children, Jasper Lee, Dominic Keaton, and “baby Reynaga”; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Glenna Letsch; nieces: Stacey and husband C.J. Dumler, Julie Letsch and her son Javon Letsch (Elyssa); nephew Richard Casper and his daughter Ashleigh Casper (John Roenne) and their daughter Addison; nephew Chris Casper (Jenny) and children Kyle and Nathan, nephew Scott Casper (Amy) and children Kaylie Shwein (Jake), and Logan Casper.
The family is having a private graveside service at a later date.
