Dennis Lincicum Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Services of Iowa at Ankeny Memorial (MSI) on Nov. 28, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Dennis "Denny" Charles Lincicum, 75, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 23, 1950, and spent his life devoted to faith, family, music and wellness.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Resurrection Lutheran Church (914 NW Ash Drive, Ankeny, Iowa). A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception, also at the church.

Denny is survived by his wife, Karen (Andersen) Lincicum, with whom he shared a life rooted in love, partnership, and unwavering devotion. He was the proud father of three children: Michele Flynn (Nate Ohnemus), Zach Lincicum (Trisha), and Michael Lincicum. He was also a deeply loved grandfather to Zach and Trisha's three children-Kori, Macie, and Chase-who brought him immense joy. Denny is also survived by his brother, Randy Lincicum (Vivian).

A highly respected Certified Public Accountant, Dennis faithfully served his clients and community for 43 years, 35 of which were spent in Ankeny, where his integrity and work ethic built lifelong relationships. Beyond his profession, Dennis lived a rich and purposeful life. He was an avid runner, participating in the Dam to Dam, Bix 7, and the Des Moines Half Marathon, joking often that he was "only half crazy" for choosing the half marathon over the full.

Music was one of Denny's greatest joys. He played in a bluegrass band called Redwing, with his honorary brother and dear friend, Rex Ratzlaff. They performed at churches, retirement communities, and nursing homes across Iowa. He also built beautiful Martin-style guitars, pouring patience and craftsmanship into every instrument. At church, he shared his gifts through the praise band, using music as a form of worship and connection.

A man of profound faith, Denny lived his beliefs through action, humility, and compassion. As a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, he nurtured his relationship with God and served his community with dedication. He was known for being kind, generous, hardworking, compassionate, faithful, intelligent, and fiercely protective of those he loved.

Memorial donations may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church in Dennis' honor.

Dennis lived a life of purpose, integrity, humor, music, and faith. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched, the music he played, the instruments he crafted, and the love he poured into his family.

He will be missed beyond measure.

I had the pleasure of meeting Denny while working for the IA. Dept. of Revenue, where I presented tax info and update classes. I was invited often to give tax updates to Denny's staff. Denny was such a kind, authentic man. Outstanding in ethics and yet, so compassionate. I am sure he will be sorely missed by a multitude of people.
