Dennis Larry Loftis

Dennis Larry Loftis, age 77, of Morningstar Lake Road, Forest City, NC, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. Dennis was born May 18, 1942 in Drayton, SC to the late Dennis J. Loftis and Ruby Godfrey Loftis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served honorably during the Vietnam War. Dennis worked for Kohler Industries, Dan River Mill and Stonecutter Mill before retirement. He was known for his sense of humor, working in his workshop and gardening. Dennis also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David Loftis, Ricky Loftis and a sister, Linda Loftis. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-years, Dorothy Loftis; two brothers, Mike Loftis of Shelby and Ronnie Loftis (Judy) of Boiling Springs, SC and half-sister, Tina Fowler of Gaffney. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews which includes Lori Bradley (Thomas) of Forest City and two pet dogs, Raven and Scarlett. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Bryan Melton officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park with Military honors being rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
