Dennis Marvin Logan, 74, was welcomed home into Heaven on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, surrounded by his family.
He was born December 16, 1951, in
Sumter, SC, to the late James H. Logan, Sr. (d.1965) and the late Clara Montgomery Nunnery Phelps (d.2003).
He was a graduate of Hillcrest High School and earned an associate's degree in Mechanical Technology from Dekalb Community College in
Clarkston, GA. For over fifty years, he was a dedicated and skilled machinist in the fabrication department at the Eaton Corporation. Dennis had a wonderfully curious mind that led to many pursuits. He was a science enthusiast, with a special interest in meteorology and astronomy. On any given evening, he could be found relishing the study of the movement of the stars and planets with his telescope and was always excited by discovery. The Weather Channel was at the top of his daily watch list and anyone visiting his home could rest assured they would leave fully aware of the current and impending meteorological events. He enjoyed technology and computer research which often led him to newfound amusements. One day he may be attempting to bake a pineapple upside-down cake, then the next, learning about the joys of lawn care. His inquisitive nature knew no bounds. Dennis was a man of devout faith with an unwavering trust in God. He loved his family dearly and found much joy in the time spent with them. Words cannot begin to describe how much his family cherished and adored him. He was a devoted son, loving brother and brother-in-law, and the best "Funcle" anyone could imagine.
He is survived by his sister, Diane L. Ratcliffe (Robert); a sister-in-law, Evelyn "Becky" Logan; one nephew, Vince Logan; three nieces, Debra Clanton (Brant), Paige Jones (Randy), and Cindy Hollis (Jay); and several great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James H. "Jimmy" Logan, Jr., and Gerald Logan; a sister, Pamela Logan; and two nieces, Stacy L. Hall and Tracey Conroy. Though gone from this earthly world, he is forever alive and well with the Lord and within our hearts. We love you, Uncle D.
A drop in celebration of life memorial will be held between 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the home of his sister-in-law, 60 Eveningshade Lane,
