Dennis Loudenslager Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schipper Funeral Home LTD on Jan. 27, 2026.
Dennis Floyd Loudenslager passed away, unexpectedly, at his home in Wyoming, MI on Sunday, January 18. He was 76 years old.

Dennis was born on March 18, 1949, in Colon, Michigan, a son of the late Edwin and Francis "Marian" (Decker) Loudenslager. He graduated from Colon High School in 1967.

Denny most loved "mushroomin" in the Northern Michigan forests, doing landscape projects around his house & at his kids' houses, and lazing in the sun by his pool every chance he could. Denny spent his days playing cards, going on walks with his beloved dog Jack, and eating sweets, but he was happiest when he was with his family.

He couldn't have been prouder of his children: a son, Christopher (Nancy) Loudenslager and a daughter Angela (Sean) Martin. Denny couldn't have been a better grandpa to his girls, Sarah and Ashleigh. He is also survived by brother David (Pamela) Loudenslager, brother Gerald (Patricia) Loudenslager, and several nieces & nephews. Preceding in death are his parents, his sister Sandra Alber, and his faithful black lab, Jack.

In lieu of a funeral, the family will receive friends & relatives from 2-5:00 pm on Saturday, January 31, at the Colon American Legion. We look forward to hearing your stories & sharing memories of our father, brother, uncle, and friend. A private family celebration of life will be held in the Spring amongst a forest full of morels.

The family asks that any memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of West Michigan in place of flowers.

Dennis was a great neighbor and friend to my grandparents Brian and Linda Keiser. I got a chance of getting to know Dennis when my grandmother had her accident and he really helped my family by keeping an eye on my grandpa while we were at the hospital. Dennis was always willing to lend a helping hand to my grandparents and for that my family will forever be grateful knowing they had such a good friend in Dennis. I am very saddened to hear of his passing.
