Dennis Lloyd Martin

Dennis Lloyd Martin, 63 years old, died at his home on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 surrounded by his beloved wife, family/friends and fur babies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mother Lorene Daily Withers, Father Lloyd Martin, Grandparents Rufus and Flora Withers and brother Louis Adrie Stargel. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his childhood sweetheart and wife of 44 years Pamela Lynn Martin, his precious daddy's girl, Daughter Jillian Martin (Coones) who stayed by his side and lovingly helped care for him, his most cherished, loved and precious Grandchildren Mason Alan Coones and Madison Ann Coones who affectionately called him "Poppy" and he loved like no other. His loving sister-in-law Mary Ann Stargel who raised him as her own and always told him "He's her baby and she has the papers to prove it"! Many, many cousins, aunts and uncles who all raised him along the way to adulthood to help make him the incredible man he was.
His sister and brother-in-law Tammy and John Lindsey, who he loved so much and who helped care for him until the end. Numerous nieces and nephews who all thought he was the "Best Uncle" ever no matter their age from 2 – 40 and each one he adored just as much.
Dennis retired from Material Handling Systems in August 2022 after many years where he worked tirelessly to ensure he always did his best and what was right.
Dennis was the love of his wife's life, a giver to all, a helper to many. A teacher, mentor, jokester, world class traveler, car aficionado, coffee connoisseur, avid gun collector and world class bourbon acquirer, but above all he was a kind, giving, gentle and compassionate friend to all who were lucky enough to cross his path.
To know him was the biggest blessing, to learn from him was invaluable, but to be loved by him was the greatest gift anyone could ever receive! There will never be another, Rest Easy my love and best friend. My lobster, we mated for life and I will see your face again! Please save my place.
Funeral services will be Monday February 20, 2023 at 3:00pm Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY. Visitation will be Sunday February 19, 2023 from 2:00-8:00pm and Monday February 20, 2023 from 11:00am until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Foundation.
