I fondly remember the Okeefe family from 1950's. They were wonderful Irish people. I am very sorry to hear Dennis and Toby are gone. Also, Toby and Mary. We wish our condolences and prayers to the rest of the family. John/Marlene Hendrickson

I was fortunate to have gotten to know Dennis since he moved back to the Klamath Falls area. We had much in common, as when he was a young boy his family lived on Golden Road near Tulelake, about 1 mile from our place. Their above ground potato cellar is still standing. He said, the house still had a hand pump at the kitchen sink, from the first homesteads of the early 1920's. He told me that his father sold the Tulelake farm in 1946 and bought a farm near Henley. But the could not move to the farm at Henley until after the harvest that year. So his family spent the summer of 1946 in Ireland. He had memories of praying to Rosary in Ireland with family around the sod fire in the house. He knew he needed surgery, but after having some bad luck in the hospital a few months ago, he really did not want to go back in there again. He said - Father, Thy will be done.
