Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home - Clay CenterDennis H. Olson, 84 of Wakefield, Kansas died on February 24, 2026 at the KU Medical, Kansas. He was born in Superior, Wisconsin, the son of Howard and Mary (Rivord) Olson.
Dennis served in the United States Marine Corps for 3 years. He then served in the United States Army for 24 years, retiring as a CW3. Life member of VFW Post 7774 for 32 years. He married Linda Ellsbury on May 18, 1968.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Dennis, Jr., brothers, Richard and Earl Olson and sister, Lois Larson.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Linda of Wakefield; son, Chad Olson of Abilene, KS; daughters, Ramona Olson of Kansas City, Yolanda and husband, Jeff Morton of Abilene, KS and Wanda and husband, Kevin Monio of Clayton, WI; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother, Harvey & wife Donna Olson; sister, Marsha Olson; stepbrothers, Kenny and Raymond Chaffey, all of WI and stepsister, Arlene Cross, WI.
A celebration of life will be held on March 28,2026 at 1:00pm at The Olson Residence 1301 3rd Street Wakefield, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be made for Flag Poles at Highland Cemetery in care of the Wakefield V.F.W. Post 7774
